In December 2004, all charges against Attorney Marcia Czapelski were dropped by the prosecutor's office.
After a thorough investigation, the prosecutor completely vindicated Marcia of any wrongdoing.
Marcia was represented by Maureen Ruane, Esq., of Lowenstein Sandler. Ms. Ruane is a former federal prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Newark, NJ.
Marcia said, "I am extremely pleased that the prosecutor recognized my innocence. Unfortunately,
I am the victim of the misdeeds of another individual, who cast a shadow on my otherwise sterling reputation. I want to thank the prosecutor's office for conducting a fair and thorough investigation.
I also wish to thank my attorney, and my family and friends for their unwavering belief in my innocence and for their support during this ordeal."
Despite Marcia’s innocence, several people have published untruthful, malicious and libelous statements about her online.
Marcia looks forward to the successful outcome of her legal actions against these individuals. She said, "Some vindictive and dishonest people think they can hide behind the anonymity of Internet to publish outright lies about honest people like me. I cannot and will not rest until the courts punish these criminals."
Marcia added, "Anyone who knows me is well aware that I am an individual of exemplary character. I have never committed a crime in my life, and, in fact, I never would be able to commit a crime because I truly am an honest, law-abiding citizen."
